SPB UK & Ireland is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for Insurance Broker ESG Champion of the Year at the UK Broker Awards 2026.
This recognition reflects the significant progress we have made in embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles across our business and reinforces our commitment to operating responsibly, sustainably, and with a long-term focus on creating value for our customers, colleagues, partners and communities.
Embedding ESG Across the Business
At SPB, ESG is not a standalone initiative it is an integral part of our strategy and the way we operate every day. Over the past year, we have strengthened our ESG framework through the implementation of a formal Group ESG Policy, establishing clear commitments around environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, circular economy principles and responsible business conduct.
To ensure these commitments translate into meaningful action, ESG has been embedded across all areas of the organisation. Teams spanning HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Facilities, Procurement and Marketing work collaboratively to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making, operational processes and business planning. Supported by a dedicated Group ESG Officer, this approach ensures ESG principles are consistently applied across the organisation and remain central to future growth.
Driving Meaningful Environmental Change
As part of our environmental commitments, SPB has launched a range of initiatives designed to reduce our impact and support the transition to a lower-carbon future.
These include the move towards renewable electricity contracts, the progressive electrification of our vehicle fleet, enhanced energy performance monitoring across our sites, and the adoption of circular economy initiatives through partnerships that promote the use of refurbished equipment. We have also established a structured roadmap to define and achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
Alongside these initiatives, we have introduced practical measures such as encouraging lower-emission travel and responsible resource management, helping to ensure sustainability remains part of everyday business activity.

Our ESG strategy extends beyond environmental performance. As a business, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and responsible culture that supports both our people and the communities in which we operate.
Guided by the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, we actively promote human rights, fair labour practices, diversity and inclusion. We also seek opportunities to strengthen local economies through responsible sourcing practices and supplier diversity initiatives, ensuring social responsibility is reflected throughout our value chain.

Effective governance is fundamental to delivering meaningful ESG outcomes. At SPB, ESG is embedded within our governance structure, with regular oversight from both the Board and Executive Committee.
Our governance framework includes dedicated ESG leadership, transparent data collection and reporting processes, integration of ESG criteria into procurement and supplier management, and ongoing monitoring to drive continuous improvement. This structured approach ensures accountability and helps maintain momentum as we continue to evolve our ESG programme.
